Cornwall Hill College and Jeppe High School for Boys

Cornwall Hill College
Cornwall Hill College, or CHC, is located in Irene, a suburb of Pretoria, which is the fastest growing residential area. There are 800 students in the high school, 1300 students total on their campus, which includes primary grades. This private school was started in 1998 and it is run by a parent body. There is boarding and a taxi system available for students who live far away. CHC has sister schools in England and Sweden. They are a faith-based school.
Students have an 8 period day; each period is 45 minutes long. Every Friday, the students meet for an assembly/informational meeting. The students wear uniforms to school. At the end of the school day, students will participate in co-curricular activities. Sports like rugby and hockey are popular, but there are also cultural co-curriculars, such as music lessons and public speaking.

Jeppe High School for Boys
Jeppe is the oldest high school in Jo'burg, founded in 1890. It started as a co-ed high school, then the girls school split off. There are 950 students at Jeppe, 200 boarding students. Students come from all over the world to attend Jeppe; each one is required to take English and either Afrikaans or Zulu. The students are assigned to 7 different houses, named after African antelope, that will compete against one another. There are approximately 160 boys to each house, and they select their student leaders.
The students attend a morning meeting, then five 50 minute class periods, with breaks throughout the day. Many students take a sixth class, then attend a culture or sport co-curricular.
